I would like to add one additional very useful contextual reference:
David Irving, Nuremberg, the Last Battle, PDF can be downloaded from http://www.fpp.co.uk/books/Nuremberg/
Having been through substantial quantity of the Nuremberg material (second hand – i.e., not the orignal but the compiled official records), David Irving’s book provide very useful context.
In addition, in a conversation with my professor Noam Chomsky a few years ago, he confirmed to me mine and his own perspectives and suspicions over a tea conversation with one of the original attorneys who worked for Robert Jackson and the US team (if I recall the person correctly, forget his name though). According to Chomsky, and according to my own study as well, and confirmed by David Irving’s book noted above, there was a fare degree of hypocrisy in defining war crimes.
These were crimes that the Nazis committed, but the Allies did not commit. Those crimes which the Allies also committed and the Nazis did not commit, were outright not defined as war crimes, and those crimes that they common, Nazis pleaded accordingly, and the criminals were let go. An example of the last one is Admiral Doenitz. You can certainly think of examples of the others.
However there is one class of crimes which has got little attention.
That was Hjalmar Schaact. Please see David Irving’s footnoted disclosures.
Also see my report where it is footnoted in detail:
Monetary Reform: Who will bell the cat? http://humanbeingsfirst.blogspot.com/2008/10/monetary-reform-who-will-bell-thecat.html
Perhaps you know all this already. Since I didn’t see Irving’s version of Nuremberg, thought I’d drop you a note.
Thank you.
